Description:
Taconic, a global leader in the manufacture of PTFE coated fiberglass fabric, belts and tapes, is seeking a Lab Technician for our Petersburgh, NY location.
Responsibilities:
As Lab Technician, you will be responsible for the collection, testing, data management, and reporting of test data for all product samples, as well as general test equipment maintenance.
Requirements:
- HS diploma or equivalent experience.
- Strong verbal communication and active listening skills.
- Must have good attention to detail with ability to understand and interpret product specifications, work instructions and drawings.
- Must be able to work well with others and prioritize based on changing work conditions.
- Ability to interpret instructions whether written, spoken, or in a diagram.
- Possess problem-solving skills.
- Computer skills especially in the use of Microsoft Office/Word/Excel Ability to manage files and records effectively.
- Knowledge to operate and understand dimensional, electrical and mechanical test equipment such as micrometer, tensile tester, dielectric tester, weight scales, etc.
- Ability to work with chemicals is required.
- A fundamental understanding of Taconic’s product line is preferred.
