Description:
Taconic, a global leader in the manufacture of PTFE coated fiberglass fabric, belts and tapes, is seeking a Project Engineer to lead capital equipment and facility improvement initiatives within an industrial manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
This position will own projects from concept through commissioning, including equipment design, building upgrades, contractor management, installation, and startup. This position is in a fast-paced, plant setting solving complex engineering challenges that directly impact production performance, safety, and long-term operational efficiency. This is a high-visibility, hands on role with significant autonomy and influence over capital planning and facility modernization.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial, or related Engineering discipline with 3–7 years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience leading capital or equipment improvement projects in an industrial environment.
- Strong project planning, cost estimation, and contractor management skills required, with the ability to work independently to drive projects to completion.
- Experience with mechanical and electrical system design required.
- Must have experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar), PLC-controlled systems and industrial automation.
Additional Notes:
PMP certification or formal project management training is desirable.
