Description:
Taconic, a global leader in the manufacture of PTFE coated fiberglass fabric, belts and tapes, is seeking a highly motivated Territory Sales Manager for the Northeast territory to service existing accounts and develop new markets and customers for industrial products line.
Responsibilities:
Duties will include the following:
- Make field sales calls to customers and prospects as needed to maximize sales of our products.
- Make material recommendations to customers based on requirements.
- Attend approved trade shows and act as trade show manager when assigned.
- Follow up on sales leads and report results.
- Forecast and meet territory forecasted sales.
- Identify potential new market areas.
- Develop new prospects into customers
- Direct and interface with area customer service representative.
- Recommend new or improved products.
- Plan advanced weekly and monthly itinerary.
- Initiate new or improved products.
- Submit project requests and follow up.
- Participate in annual corporate sales meetings.
- Monitor and report on competitive activity in assigned territory.
- Provide divisional personnel with recommendations for ways to better serve our customers.
- Must be able to travel 75% – 80% of the time within assigned territory. Territory includes NY, ME, NH, MA, VT, CT and RI.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Sales or Marketing or equivalent experience.
- Three years of industrial sales experience desired.
- Good problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate effectively and maintain professional working relationships with customers and internal staff.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member in completing daily tasks and assignments.
- Must be able to adapt to changing priorities.
- Substantial knowledge of MS Office programs with ability to develop and conduct sales presentations required.
